The 2011 Midwest Bruins wrapped up their season with an outstanding 2nd Place in the Hap Dumont World Series Tournament that was held in Topeka at Lake Shawnee July 21-24th, 2011.  The Bruins lost their first game of bracket play on Friday and climbed their way back into the championship game with a 6 game stretch, 3 games each on Saturday and Sunday.  Here is how the comeback happened:
Saturday:
Midwest Bruins vs. Wichita Sluggers 3-2
Midwest Bruins vs. Butler County Cubs 11-4
Midwest Bruins vs. Wichita Rawlings Reds 15-0
Sunday:
Midwest Bruins vs. Wichita Prospects 7-6 in 8
Midwest Bruins vs. Wichita Sluggers 9-8 in bottom of 7
Midwest Bruins vs. Playball Sports for Championship 1-6
Some of the tournament highlights were:

-Freshman Ben Ramberg (Topeka West) threw the shut out game against the Wichita Reds (15-0 in 4)
-Ethan Beckett (Seaman) got game winning hit in extra innings against the Wichita Prospects (7-6)
-Eric Cheray (Seaman) was 12-20 over a 6-game span with 11 rbi's, 5 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs
